Andersen Windows Corporation Centennial History Book
This award winning book documents the 100 year history of the Andersen Windows Corporation. Working in collaboration with an executive team from withing the organization, and an independent writer and co-developer, we researched the company using physical archives and personal interviews, and generated a book that identifies and presents the stories of the people, the places, and the organizational and family cultures that defined them over the last century.
In addition to traditional timelines, the structure of the book is determined through broad themes, rather than a more typical chronological approach. It’s designed to be opened anywhere, and still provide the reader with a brief, complete story on a specific topic, within just a few pages.
As the you move from the front to the back of the book, the light source which is represented by cast shadows of the printed artifacts, quietly shifts from east to west, indicating the passing of time.
In addition to the printed hardcover copies, we created a limited edition version that’s bound between stout glass covers developed with the Icelandic staff artisans. 40,000 hardcover copies of this 216 page book were printed, including 35,000 words and over 300 images. At the time of it’s printing, it was the largest project from the United States printed in Iceland.
